Pronouncing the Italian alphabet can be difficult for some
beginners. Yet is is crucial to know how to pronounce the letters as you
will better know how to say the words. The standard contemporary
Italian alphabet has 21 letters. Here is a guide on how to pronounce the
Italian consonants and vowels.
A - sounds like 'a' in bath
B - sounds like 'bi' in bic
C - sounds like 'chi' in chick
D - like 'di' in dictionary
E - like 'e' in berry
F - like 'effe' in effervescence
G - 'ji' in jingle
H - 'aka' if you where to pronounce the 'a' like in bath
I - 'ea' in tea.
L - 'ele' in eleven
